Speak Now for Kids – the Voice for Kids in Health Care Reform

speaknow Speak Now for Kids the Voice for Kids in Health Care Reform

Health Care Reform is coming…one way or another.

Talks are underway as we speak to put changes in motion for reform to our current system.  It is up to us to make sure that our children have a voice and that their needs are met.

All to often talks center around the elderly and children’s issues are left out completely.

Speak Now For Kids wants to be the voice for kids in Health Care Reform

What you need to know….

* 8.8 million children in the U.S. do not have health insurance.
* Insured children are more likely to receive preventative care, and therefore they get sick less often.
* Many adult chronic conditions begin in childhood.
* Even with insurance, children currently receive only 41% of preventative medical care.

We would like to bring awareness to these problems and give children the voice they can’t have on their own in legislative changes. This is a non-partisan effort meant to bring children’s issues to the table when laws are being discussed. We are finding that there is NO voice at all when politicians meet. We want children’s voices represented on Capitol Hill.

We want YOUR voice on Capitol Hill!

Do you have a compelling story to tell? Have you dealt with insurance issues in one way or another? Good or bad…your stories can help determine the best course of action for health care reform.

Our son has suffered from severe food allergies and Eczema for the first three years of his life. He is now four and recovering well with the help of his Vidazorb probiotic….thank God. It was a long and horrible road for him and for our whole family! We do not have health insurance but fortunately bc of our income level we qualified for Hoosier Helathwise (Indiana’s medicaid). I do not know how we ever would have been able to get him the help he needed otherwise. We saw numerous docs, specialists, children’s hospitals, expensive creams and meds. It is very costly to take care of a healthy child…but the cost is insane when you need extra care. All children deserve to be cared for, whether their parents can afford it or not! No child should ever be denied care or coverage…ever! I would love to help- how can I take part in this? Caroline *mommy of two
