Seagate FreeAgent Go Portable Hard Drive Review and Giveaway

seagate_fa_chrome_red_rightangleI’ve recently had a lot of computer difficulty. I had the help of Computer Support Genius Stewart Nickel (hubs to @twincident) to clean up my software issues, and when he diagnosed the hardware problems (all remotely, this guy rocks) I ran, not walked to my Seagate FreeAgent Portable Hard Drive. As luck would have it, I was sent one (cute red, btw) for review at the same time and I needed to back up everything FAST….

Seagate is a name we’ve trusted for a long time. Our first back up HD was a 4 gig and was the size of a small book. This one is 500 gig ($150 value) and the size of a medium Hershey bar. LOVE IT… It’s vacation season, and if you plan on traveling with your computer, TAKE THIS WITH YOU…you never know when a problem will arise and you need to back up everything quickly!

The FreeAgent Go offers capabilities of 250GB, 320GB, 500 GB and 640GB

Sets up easily with USB 2.0

Backup is effortless. Getting started couldn’t be easier. You can set it up in minutes with no CD.

Still haven’t decided what to get that graduate? I know mine is getting one of these…(not this one, though he has his eye on it) Travelling to Blogher or other conferences this year? Make sure you are prepared for any accident or catastrophe!

Don’t lose those vacation pictures because your hard drive fails…back them up on this after you load them on your pc…it takes up so little room, it’s a no brainer.

….and with models starting at $75, it’s great insurance!

I’m giving away one Seagate FreeAgent Go 500 GB to Short Pump Preppy readers!!

    This is what i need.
    Momentus® Hard Drives
Seagate® Momentus® hard drives provide the optimum combination of performance, capacity and mobility in a 2.5-inch form factor. They are also a good fit in certain non-PC applications, including external storage, copiers/printers and entry-level blade servers.
    Good For
Applications requiring robust performance, including laptop PCs, small form factor PCs and non-mission critical blade servers.

I like the Seagate Replica b/c I have an old laptop that I use for both work & personal use. If the hard drive crashed I’d be done for. I love that the replica allows you to restore your ENTIRE system in the event of a crash and it backs things up automatically.

Seagate has been around for many years. I still have a working p-120 computer with one of their hard drives, so I am sure their DB35 Series™ Hard Drives are just as good. I like their hard drives

The Barracuda 7200-RPM drive also cares about $/GB and watts/GB, so you get dependability and low TCO.
