Week 2 of 52 to Fabulous! What a girl needs!

Here’s where I see it getting deep.  What are my needs?  I think many times we mistake our wants for needs and I’m no different.  But here are some obvious and things that I’m actively working on this year.

Organization, organization, organization…my house is a hot mess.  We have decided to start with the kitchen and keep it straight, not load it with more stuff and keep it clean.  Form habits that hopefully will transfer to the rest of the house.  I can’t live in the chaos any more.

Weight.  I am over weight and while losing everything I need to is overwhelming, I would like to go down 1 dress size in the next few months.  (ok that sounds like a want, but keep reading) I went down 1 size when I broke my arm and just that amount of weight made a difference in my energy and mobility.  I see the need here.   Again I’m taking baby steps.

Family.  I am trying to set aside more family time.  Since my youngest started driving, I have not been driving kids around like I used to, and there is not as much family time at home.  I plan to look up from the computer or close it completely more often.  Even if it’s just to watch American Idol.

Other needs?  Financial  debt reduction

Laugh more…my puppy helps with that.  I’ll show you a video soon.

Fix more food from scratch.  I may need some help here.  I’m a 5 ingredient or less kind of girl.

What action step did I take this week to address one of last week’s wants?

I got through several piles of old clothes and laundry.  I went out to breakfast with a friend.  So there’s two!  Not bad huh?

Thanks for playing along!  I know I was late with mine this week, but helping with Blissdom has been crazy.  Hopefully things will settle down and I can focus on these goals more!

52 to Fabulous! Week 1, What a Girl Wants

mom1111Since I came up with the idea for this series, so many things have gone through my mind…

A new year with so many possiblities!  Each year I feel like I have not finished any one thing and it gets depressing.  I’m committed this year to breaking it down into smaller tasks and solving what I can when I can.

This week is all about What a Girl Wants. The older I get, it seems the less I want.  Maybe it’s because I have done a lot and have a lot.  So here is the best that I could do to come up with my list of wants…NOW NEXT WEEK WHEN WE GET TO NEEDS…halp!

January – Fabulous Beginnings – I want to begin my weight loss and exercise goals
February – Fabulous Organization - I want to have my house ready to sell, and weed out all the stuff I don’t want any more
March – Fabulous Fitness – I want to find the will power to exercise on a regular basis
April – Fabulous Food - I want to cook at home more
May – Fabulous Style – I want to find deals on classic clothes…oh and I want a real photograph of me…some nice head shots

June – Fabulous Fun – I want to get out more often to socialize with friends

July – Fabulous Hobbies – I want to improve my photography skills
August – Fabulous Finances – I want to get out of debt

September – Fabulous Family – I want to spend more time off the computer and interacting with my kids

October – Fabulous Health – I want to lose weight and work on strengthening my wrist and ankle
November – Fabulous Home – I want my to get my home to a sellable point – I hope it is done by now and perhaps I have moved!
December – Fabulous Blogging – I want to find more of a groove and consistency in blogging.  I’m not sure I know what that means either.

Out of those wants, the main goals are in the areas of Health, Home, and Finances.

*I really need to lose weight, a large amount.  And since my ankle break and wrist break, my joints have not been the same.  I need to work at strength…and be diligent about it.

*I hope to move soon, and need to get this house ready to sell.  That is a huge task as there are a lot of repairs to be done…We have already begun this, but it’s a huge task when you are single and financially need to do a lot of the work yourself.

*And finances.  I would like to pay off my debt … I’m tired of being strapped down by it, and want to live a simple life with simple needs and wants.

There is it, laid out on the blog.  I think that’s as honest as I have ever gotten on here.  But that’s where I am and my journey will continue here and on 52 to Fabulous.

thanks for playing along!

Advanced Eye Therapy by Perricone MD Giveaway

Perricone-MD1

It’s time for another Perricone MD giveaway!  This time it’s all about the eyes.  I have been trying the Advanced Eye Area Therapy by NV Perricone, and have noticed that the area around my eyes is much softer than it had been with my previous pricey eye cream.

Soft is good.  I’m trying to lose that *sink hole* effect that age brings to the eye area.  And keeping skin soft and supple helps with the anti-aging effects.

You all know I’m 48 and while I’m not looking for the miracle beauty product *google old lady desperate for fountain of youth* I do like to keep products on hand that have anti aging properties.

Here’s the medical awesomeness that makes up Perricone Advanced Eye Therapy in no particular order of awesomeness

Alpha Lipoic Acid – Patented
- The ultimate antioxidant protects the cell
- Diminishes fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration
- Refines skin texture
- Reduces pore size, puffiness, imperfections and uneven skin tone

DMAE – Patented
- Provides ultimate contouring benefits to skin beginning to lose elasticity
- Delivers lifted, tightened and toned appearance to the skin
- Diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

Vitamin C Ester – Patented
- A powerful antioxidant that improves firmness and elasticity
- Diminishes the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration
- Imparts a radiant, smooth and luminous appearance

You probably want one too! Cool, because we have a giveaway for you:

Week 1 – 52 to Fabulous – What a Girl Wants

January is for Fabulous Beginnings!
52 to Fabulous

January 6 -  What a Girl Wants

Fabulous Beginnings is all about starting off on the right foot.  What are some of your challenges?  What do you really want to accomplish, acquire or realize this year?

Here’s a suggestion…take each of the categories for the year and come up with something (or some things) in each that you WANT…
For instance for Organization, I want to tackle the garage…for Style I want to find the right jeans.  Next week we are listing out NEEDS, but you may find they are one in the same.  (especially if you’ve seen me in jeans!)

These can be big or small.  Major or minor.  Our goal will not be to solve every problem on the list, but to give us something to think about as we engage in each of the topics and challenges.  Your goals may change as we go along.

From this lets list our TOP 3 GOALS that we would like to achieve or in some way realize.  Then post and link up on the site http://52toFabulous.com.

Here is the schedule of Categories for the year by month – these are subject to change, and unfortunately mistakes as in the newsletter – September is Fabulous Family not food again, although that could take two months I KNOW.

January – Fabulous Beginnings
February – Fabulous Organization
March – Fabulous Fitness
April – Fabulous Food
May – Fabulous Style
June – Fabulous Fun
July – Fabulous Hobbies
August – Fabulous Finances
September – Fabulous Family
October – Fabulous Health
November – Fabulous Home
December – Fabulous Blogging

Hope you will play along and sign up for the newsletter to find more tips and advice.  We will have experts weighing in over at the site, so check it out!

Post and link up on or before January 6 so we can get started on Week 2, What a Girl NEEDS!!
