Have I told you yet about the wonderful time I had at BlogHer thanks to Bumble Bee Foods?

I can’t thank them enough for sponsoring the whole Bee Squad and I am proud to be associated with such a fabulous brand!

The party with Chef Scott was fabulous. You know him from Hell’s Kitchen….he’s the cute one.. The overall vibe of the party was simple, fun, informative, and with food and beverage (HOLLA !). Held at the Viking kitchens it had us all drooling over the fancy appliances.

Heather Tots and Chef Scott

I love knowing smart people. I also love skype.

It’s the only place I know where you can put a list of ingredients into a room and someone smart comes up with dinner plans for you.

Hence Heather Tots.

Granted it’s just roasted potatoes and I didn’t follow some of the MUST DO RULES (because I am a rebel like that).

The Bumble Bee Foods and BeeWell for Life~!

As a brand ambassador for Bumble Bee Foods, I wanted to make you aware of some changes that are so cool and SO inspiring! You know they have a commitment to health and healthy eating. And you may have been aware or even a member of the BeeMiles program. Time to check it out because there are some changes!

BeeWell Miles is now BeeWell for Life!

Bumble Bee Foods rebranded its interactive health and wellness program to promote a healthy lifestyle to more people. The program, formerly BeeWell Miles, is now BeeWell for Life. Through the program Web site www.beewellforlife.com, other online communities and on-the-ground events, BeeWell for Life provides resources and tools to encourage consumers toward a healthy, active lifestyle.

Participants in BeeWell for Life who log the miles they walk, run or bike are eligible for various prizes and help make a difference for Breast Cancer Network of Strength. For each mile logged through www.beewellforlife.com between now and October 31, 2010, Bumble Bee will donate 15¢ per mile. When one million miles are logged, the company will make an additional $50,000 contribution, for a total donation of $200,000.

Bee at the Walk Contest

In addition to the rebrand, this week marks the start of the “Bee at the Walk” contest on www.beewellforlife.com. Now through April 16th, interested participants can submit their story related to breast cancer (via a text entry, personal photograph or video) explaining why they should attend the Breast Cancer Network of Strength Mother’s Day Walk to Empower as a BeeWell for Life National Ambassador in Chicago. Users can vote for their favorite submissions and based on those votes 5 finalists will be chosen. A panel of Bumble Bee & Network of Strength judges will then make a final review of the finalists and select the winner. The grand prize will include:

* All expense paid trip for 4 to Chicago
* Meet and greet with the NOS team
* Tour of the FTD corporate location
* Bouquet of roses provided by FTD
* Flip camera (or similar video recorder) to document the experience

In addition to the grand prize trip to Chicago, entrants can also select if they would like to be entered to become a Team Captain for the remaining 13 cities. If selected as a team captain, they will be sent a branded Flip camera to record their experience at the walk.

Bumble Bee, #Blogher10 and a Tuna Salad

Thanks to Bumble Bee Tuna I will be attending Blogher ’10 with the other BeeSquad Ambassadors! It’s a fabulous opportunity to represent a brand that I truly believe in and LOVE.

Bumble Bee impresses me the more I learn about them. First for their commitment to healthy living and ending obesity with their alliance with the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation (HWCF) …. and also for their efforts toward sustainability.

You know, good things that companies can do and should do and this one does already….

Just an all around good company.

I eat tuna several times a week, always have…and love that it’s an easy meal/snack to fix.

You also know that I’m a “fewer ingredients the better” (lazy) girl, and so I want to share my quick dinner / lunch/ midnight snack/ breakfast if you have to…recipe…my fave, and you will love it too.

This time I’m using the Bumble Bee in the pouch. These are handy to take on the run…AND MAYBE I CAN HAVE SOME IN MY ROOM AT BLOGHER FOR A SNACK #justsayin

It’s so easy to toss on a bed of greens (your choice). Then I like to add about 1/4 – 1/3 can of white beans and top with ranch dressing mixed with some red wine vinegar.

I like to cut the dressings with a little extra vinegar because it reduces the calories and I LIKE VINEGAR *fishy lip face*.

Ok, so I’m learning to take fancy photos of food. By Blogher hopefully they will look good!

My Search For The Best Tuna Noodle Casserole

I am the kind of cook who throws 5 ingredients from the cabinet together and makes dinner. You never know what might be in that cabinet or how that meal will end up.

I know, it scares my kids sometimes too….

Now that I’m working as a brand ambassador for Bumble Bee tuna I have had fun playing with their products and trying to come up with fun foods for my family. We eat tuna about 3-4 times a week anyway. And when I’m grabbing those ingredients for my 5 item dinners, often Tuna is one of the 5.

You probably know how to really cook, don’t you?
