Barbie was so excited the other day when she got the invitation to a party. She’s very social you know.
*she brings fun just like Jenny brings glitter*
However it was a ….Backwards Party. This confused Barbie a little because she barely has this frontwards thing down.
…she’s blond remember…
So she got on her fancy outfit..BACKWARDS…
Oh dear not the best look !
She put her nametag on with Barbie spelled backwards. Not easy to do when your fingers don’t move huh?
Walking backwards proved to be tricky. She was always running into something.
Then she remembered…..
Her head…
…can turn
…all the way around!
Barbie was the hit of the party from that point on. She was voted Most Creative Use of Backwards at the event!!
And of course most beautiful …but that goes without saying…

Or is that a man’s hands…oh well.
Either way, there are good little cameras and then some not so good. I know, I have the junk drawer to prove it.
Casio is a brand name that does NOT end up in the junk drawer at our house. In fact the Casio cameras we have usually last until the kids drop them off the roller coaster or swim with them in the pool.
Which is ANOTHER reason I don’t like to spend a fortune on cameras. For the kids…but for me? I don’t ride roller coasters, and me in a bathing suit?
I can have any camera I want….
Ok, back to the Casio…the EX-S510 mp w/3x optical zoom….runs about $110. A great camera for kids, graduation gifts, or as a spare to carry in your bag. It’s about the size of a credit card and about 1/2 inch thick. Really portable…and I love the pictures it takes.
- 10-megapixel resolution
- 3x optical zoom; 2.7-inch widescreen LCD
- State-of-the-art Exilim Engine 4.0; Dynamic Photo function
- HD Movie function
- Capture images to SD/SDHC memory cards (not included)
It’s great at adjusting to the light in the room….
See here, the colors and the…
…wait, sit still Penny…
…Penny…can you….wait….
…um…ok, so it’s very good at taking pics of moving objects.
Looking for something small and portable? No not Penny, though she is…I mean a camera silly.
Check out the Casio EX S5.
Here is something you can add to the bottom of your posts to show what the post is all about. Is this just a product review, were you compensated for the post or do you just love the product and want to talk about it?
Right click and save to your computer. Then load it up, name it something easy to find. Then everytime you need it, search the name in your photos, and pull it in. Easy Peasy.
Leave me a message if you use them! I’d love to hear! More fun ones to come!
I do not claim to be an expert, but I am paying through the nose to send my daughter to Savannah College or Art and Design to become an expert which makes me an close enough.
*anyone who would like to help with said tuition is welcome to share the title*
But there are a few things I know mostly from making the mistake and being yelled at by my daughter. They are simple mistakes, but for design, they are MUSTS…
When using graphics, you must keep the proportions the same as the original photo. That just meas that the integrity of the original photo is kept in tack, even if you crop it…the width and height might not stay the same, but the photo should not be stretched either sideways or heightwise.
The only exceptions are if you are making a statement about the message.
Who does not want MILE HIGH CAKE…? Think about your post and what would be effective.
The other exception to the rule (and I made this one up so go with me here) is if you want to look thinner and then I approve. *note to self: must apply graphic tool to belly region as well*
You don’t want to end up looking silly…if the graphic doesn’t fit you MUST QUIT *slaps knee*…pushing a graphic out of proportions makes the visitor leave before they stab fork in eye might want to. And we don’t want to lose any people to silly graphic mistakes.
The ladder to success with simple graphics is not that difficult…no need to tilt things…it won’t work.
Hope these tips have helped you! Picnik.com is my choice for easy photo fixes..
*Picnik did NOT sponsor this post, I just puffy heart them*
Headed to Blissdom or Disney Social Media Moms Celebration with me?
There are some basics for blogging conference attire. I know, I’ve been to a few conferences and had the most wonderful compliments on my attire. YOU CAN TOO! Just follow these easy tips…
Comfort and fashion can go hand in hand
Wear your cutest skirt, but take a sweater…those conference rooms can be chilly! I’d rather opt for a fabulous pair of jeans and jacket (tho I might hide my midriff) with a snazzy hat to complete the ensemble.
…and be sure to compliment someone’s super fancy hairdo…I love those braids!
Show your fun side in your outfits. It’s ok to dress a little outside the box, pick up some new fashion forward pieces. Yes I hear Hammer Pants are coming back! YAY!!
Maybe you want to show your style with the still popular and ever trendy animal prints.
Mind the weather! You don’t want to have to hide in the rain if you go outside for parties or just to see the sites…
This time of year I’d probably opt for a heavier coat in a faux fur, after all I’m a friend to the animals. Worried about your hair getting messy? A fabulous scarf..they are sooooo in right now….is great!
You’ll need the right accessories. If you are doing any sightseeing, looking at the area, you will need something to carry your stuff in, and a fashionable backpack can work for both sightseeing and as a catch all for those conference supplies or swag.
Check out any theme nights and bring your appropriate outfits. I love PJ parties! It’s such a girl thing!!
Oh the cocktail parties! They are so much to plan for! Wear something classy and easy to dance in. I would refrain from wearing something too see through or accessories like the hat….
……………………..that might slip down during the festivities! OH NO!! Look at Ariel! She always looks fabulous…though no need to dress for a ball….
OH and did I mention comfortable shoes?
Now I think you can pack easily for the conferences…and you’ll be the hit of the event!!
So fabulous friends! What are you planning to bring to your next conference?

Last year I made the trip to Blissdom just so I could meet Mrs. Fussypants. I was so excited. We bonded right away.
I KNEW WE WOULD-she saw stars, i saw stars and KISMET
Now she doesn’t do anything without me. We are inseparable. I know, we live HOURS away but it doesn’t keep us from doing all the fun girl stuff that girls do that do fun stuff together. *uncrosses eyes*
It’s been a year of eating ice cream together.

Shopping for the latest trends… (I KNOW LOOK AT OUR SHIRTS YOU ARE SO JEALOUS)

And telling secrets over a lunch with a small salad, dressing on the side for me and Barilla Yellow Box pasta for Alli, of course.

She will be busy at Blissdom keeping everyone else happy and we might not be doing everything together, but that’s OK. Because next year will be more fabulouser than you can imagine. I’m telling you it’s crazy love! When we see each other WATCH OUT! We will be jumping for JOY!

Oh wait, you are going to Blissdom too? KEEP YOUR PAWS OFF MY BFF, JUST SAYIN’…
When you think about it, digital cameras haven’t been around that long. Any photos of my kids as babies, toddlers, and even into the elementary years, let alone photos of my childhood, are hard copies.
I wanted a gadget that would scan photos easily without having to stand at the printer, lift the lid…well you get the picture.
For Christmas I got the Pandigital scanner and what I love most about it is it’s size. I don’t need another huge electronic sitting around my house. This is small, portable, and out of the box easy to operate. So in between tweeting and blogging and consulting, I can slip a few photos through the scanner. Comes with a memory card that you can fill and just load on your comp with ease. Can also be connected directly to the computer.
You can adjust the size to scan smaller photos and business cards. I’m not sure what took me so long to get this!!
