Love photography? Love shopping? Join my Brandography flickr group! A pop culture group of brands, logos and products. Just for fun. Because it’s all about fun, right?
Here’s the thing. I love taking photos. I love shopping. I needed to put the two together. While I am working on a major mambo project, I did something fun in the meantime to tide me over.
I started taking photos of brands/products/logos and posting one every day. I think it will be fun to look back in years to come and see how brands and logos have changed. Don’t you?
Next week? All Chicago in honor of my trip to Kenmore’s HQ. I’ve got a few fun photos of the city that I took before this project was a twinkle in my eye. Subscribe if you are so inclined, but definitely check it out!

I’m in the land of black Cadillacs this week.
I was invited by Universal to come to L.A. for the Despicable Me press junket. I will be sharing more about the movie later, but for now I’ll leave you with a few shots from the week.
For the record my life usually consists of sitting in a chair on the computer all day trying to earn a living. The fact that I am a jetsetteer 2 weeks in a row does not indicate a new trend. I fully expect to be back to back to my my size 18 leather dip next week.
Wait we have a horse show…OK, it’s a busy summer.
Here are a few of the photos “I took this morning on my walk around Beverly Hills. I think Jed Clampett was on my tail. This guy I saw had that look in his eye like “that woman can milk a cow”.
For the record I cannot. I barely milked my own babies.
However I know that I am not in the Beverly Hills set. Seriously the amount of hair extensions in this hotel alone could tent the hole in the ozone.
It’s also speculated that Beyonce is in the hotel. Random siting by two girls in the elevator that I almost had to perform CPR on.
For the record I can barely do that either. I brought a dummy back to life about 30 years ago. Well they might qualify.

I was invited by the California Milk Advisory Board last week to hear about happy cows, milk and cheese production and all kinds of other stuff including a gourmet lunch by Top Chef Season 4 contender Ryan Scott. He’s on my Facebook page. He’s hot. #justsayin’
And there will be more about that later.
Friday night however I got stuck in O’Hare – flew in at 5, boarded the flight at 9 to leave for Richmond, was yanked off the flight an hour later due to weather and spend the next 2 hours in line at United getting re-booked for Saturday. I was one of the lucky ones who was able to get a flight Saturday. Because it left at 6am there was no leaving (and there were no rooms in hotels anyway) so I hunkered down for the night on a bench…my bed for the duration.
I met some fabulous people. Everyone was very friendly and probably since we ALL had nothing we all struck up conversations with each other. Everyone had a story and everyone’s story was worse than yours (of course). I also had about an hours worth of battery power left on my camera and took a little photo walk. The area between United’s Concourse B & C is full of lights and fun. Here are a few of the photos I took. Click through to flickr to see them all.

When I was looking for inspiration for weekly winners, a friend told me to use blue pictures. At the time I blew it off because I didn’t think I had many and not much in the house is blue for me to photograph anyway.
I was wrong.
As I was looking through my flickr I saw something different. Not just the photo but the COLOR of the photo. I decided not to stop at blue but to make a collage of red, white and blue.
