We received a set of L’il Jamz Monster DJ earbuds to review. They are a good quality headphone, and to really put them to the test, I gave them to my 16 year old daughter so she could give me her expert opinion.
I know! I have experts in the house, and they have OPINIONS, how lucky I am (shoot me now).
I decided to interview her and get her response.
Me: How do you like the new L’il Jamz Earbuds?
Marg: * kissy sounds* I like ‘em.
ME: What do you like about them?
Marg: Well it’s like when they are in it blocks the sound around you out and you can like feel the base pumping and they are really comfortable.
Me: Would you recommend them to you friends?
Marg: Yes, especially someone who travels on planes a lot.
Me: Do you have a lot of friends who travel on planes?
Marg: No, I don’t have many friends at all.
Me: Thats sad -wait, you do have tons of friends.
Marg: Kinda *snickers*
Me: OK, you are just being silly.
… thanks, so you really like these? Can I have them back now?
Marg: ABSOFREAKINLUTELYNOT
Me: OK, so we have our post.
Marg: COOL
A couple of other things that I noticed before I “gave” them up. The sound is different, and not like wearing headphones. It’s as if you are HEARING the music. The buds are small enough and don’t hurt your ears LIKE EVERY OTHER PAIR I OWN, and come with interchangeable foam covers in different sizes IN CASE YOU HAVE BIG EARS I GUESS.

Now I’m all about comfort when it comes to my footies. I have not worn heels in years because of foot problems. And I have to tell you that all the technology put into making shoes today means my feet don’t have to hurt.
I totally had these, except they had a cork heel.
And no support.
Funny though, the comfortable shoes I wore then, my kids are wearing now…
Wallabees and Docksiders. Yes the preppy handbook must haves.
But still NO SUPPORT…..Can’t wear them for hours on end…’cause I need that when I’m sitting around the house tweeting and skyping…
I found KURU footwear. LOVE… I have tried their Draft model and they are the most comfortable shoes I own. And they are made for walking…a lot…in case you need to do that while you are tweeting and skyping….
These have pink in them…i know, i’m cute and comfortable! If you want fabulous shoes for a conference or anything, maybe one with mice? This would be a great choice~!!
(when they say these run small, listen to them. I’m 8 1/2 to 9 in shoes and got a 9…could not have gone one extra long toenail smaller)
I like to dabble in some simple crafts and some more complicated crafts. Sometimes when you need a little power, a little drill or a little sanding and the Dremel is all the power tool you need. I was given the Dremel 4000 model to test out. Even for something as simple as a soap on a rope, it was the perfect tool.
Yes we made a soap on a rope, don’t judge us.

I’ve used the cordless Dremel before, and tired of charging it over and over again. This corded model has all the attachments and power I need to work with my crafting projects. Of course if you need something on the go, then this corded version may not be for you.
This is the type of power tool that mom would love to receive and dad won’t get in trouble for giving…wait, that’s usually the other way around isn’t it?
OK dad, this is way cooler than a toaster…
I know, all I want for Christmas is the NOOK.
and an iPhone and a leopard Snuggie…..
Hey they kind of go together!
The Nook is Barnes and Noble’s new e-reader device. At $259 its affordable and comparable to the Kindle…except it’s the Kindle times 20….

With this you :
- Have access (free) to the 3G network, and wi-fi in Barnes and Noble stores
- You can browse (flip through e-pages) of books in the BN stores
- You can even e-lend books to people for 2 weeks…
IF THAT ISN’T THE BEST IDEA I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS… (besides a snuggling up to read in a leopard snuggie) There is a banner at the bottom of the screen for scrolling the lists of books available too. And all your books are still available on your downloaded e-readers on your computer, blackberry or (AHEM) iPhone
So if you are thinking about an e-reader this holiday season, think NOOK! And at only $259, it’s a great gift idea!
I’m all personalized now. You will know that it’s Short Pump Preppy coming at you with a video camera~
My new flip mino hd is personalized with my pink pump logo on it!

I couldn’t be more excited! So easy at the flip website to upload your image, move it, center it, position it just where you want it. I did it in just a few minutes, easy peasy! And this one is the HD so my videos are going to be super clear…I’ll let you be the judge in upcoming videos!
What a great idea for a graduation gift. You can use the pattern generator on the site to personalize it for their college colors. Yes, I’m already thinking!
Thank you Flip for making me all fancy!
How many times have you needed a good laugh as a Mom? Or just needed to know that someone has gone through the same things you have?
If you’d like a humorous take on parenting from labor forward, you need to pick up a copy of Patti McKenna’s new book, Caution: Children Should Come with Warning Labels! The title says it all! It’s about what you don’t know, what you wish you knew and what will drive you crazy.
Of course everyone will relate to something different. As a mom of three, I particularly related to the chapter on sleep deprivation…and how her only concern above everything else was keeping the baby asleep. You’ll laugh at the situations and feel a part of some real mommy drama.
And I loved the chapter “You’re Not Smarter Than a Fifth Grader” about homework dilemmas. We’ve all had nights like this. Patti is able to throw witty phrases at you that have you nodding you head…”yes, I’ve been there”…
Consider this for a new Mom, a not so new Mom, or some comic relief for the best Mom – YOU!
Thank you Momfluence and Patti for giving me the opportunity to review this book!

I don’t need to label my kid’s clothes anymore because they might lose them on the playground, or get them mixed up at school, or leave them at a friend’s house or…
Wait a minute…
Have you ever tried to distinguish 5 white riding shirts with 5 white riding collars and 5 white saddle pads made by the same company? How many navy jackets in the same size, and at a horse show you are dressing quickly, changing jackets, all in one small area, moving grabbing, stuffing, tossing.
Sometimes a little organization is hard. Oliver’s Labels solved the problem for us! Sure most of the designs are for little kids, but they have tons of designs to choose from. The beauty of them?

Oliver’s Labels stand out in the label business. They offer full-color graphics and guarantee that the images will not rub off. The labels offer what is called a Found-It codes on them in addition to your child’s first name. This is an online lost-and-found service just for Oliver’s Labels and is free of charge. The bottom of the labels directs people who may have found your item to visit a special page on the site. There they find a 9 digit code that is specific to you and you get an e-mail right away. Oliver’s Labels works in the middle so there is no need to give out personal information.
We got the flowers…these are for shoes! how cute…
Oliver’s Labels come in a variety of sizes and choice of Iron on or New Stickeez. You can purchase al la carte or in package deals. The have so many cute designs to choose from also. Check them out!!
The Mighty Queens of Freeville by Amy Dickinson is a wonderful tale of Dickinson’s life growing up, and her life as a single parent raising her daughter Emily in a small town in upstate New York.
Amy returns to her roots in Freeville, surrounded by an extended family, mother, sisters, cousins, and aunts. The book is written with humor, common sense, and written in a heartfelt way.
I could relate to a lot of the feelings that Amy had as a single parent, but the book is a great read for anyone and her writing style pulls you in until the last word. Fun chapter names like Livestock in the Kitchen: The Many Uses of Cats, The Apex of Dorkitude: Dork, Like Me, will make you laugh and want to read more.

This Gadget Girl has been in the market for a new power strip. Working from a laptop in the den much of the time, I need a convenient place to plug in when the battery is low. But with all the electronic devices we own today, outlets are at a premium.
I love the Belkin Conserve Surge Protector that Belkin sent me to review! Yes, it has a remote control and the geek in me loves anything with another gadget attached to it. But this just makes sense. The device has 8 outlets, 2 of which are “always on” for things like your phone and wireless routers. The other 6 can be turned off, reducing power usage, for items like you TV, computer, monitor, scanner, printer…
I didn’t realize that most home electronics continue to use energy, even when you’ve turned them off. This wasted energy adds up not only on your electric bill but also in its impact on the environment. Now turning off this “standby power” is easy…
No sticking your foot behind the couch or desk to turn off the switch…the remote control makes it that easy…”click”…

I love that it’s wall mountable too. I’ll be getting another one for the computer station to keep the surge protector and cords off the floor in case someone “spills” their tea or something…wait, who would do that?
As an Earth Day Special, Belkin is offering $15 off this Conserve Power strip when purchased at Belkin.com.
Just use the code earthday09 !
